What a pool costs in Temecula

A planning range from two contractor pages, what each extra costs on those pages, and what this site is not promising.

Published October 3, 2026. Reviewed against public sources listed below.

The planning range

Most new inground pools in the Temecula area run about $60,000 to $120,000, and more with a spa, rock, or retaining walls. That sentence summarizes the two contractor estimates below. It is not a third study, and it is not a price from Temecula Pool Guide. California home improvement contract rules apply to the builder's contract. Nothing on this page is an offer to build a pool.

No independent Temecula price survey was found. Both sources are contractors.

Premier Pools and Spas, Temecula page

  • A pool alone starts around $60,000.
  • With a spa, most of their projects land near $100,000.
  • A spa adds $30,000 to $40,000.
  • Premier prices the $5,000 to $10,000 heat source for a pool and spa combo, and attributes that to California's newer gas heater rules. It is not a price for every pool.
  • Retaining walls run $4,000 to $15,000.
  • Rock is hit on 30% to 40% of jobs, from about $4,000.
  • The total timeline on that page is 4 to 5 months.

Bogner Pools, Inland Empire guide (2026)

This guide is for Riverside and the Inland Empire. It is not a Temecula-only survey.

  • A straightforward custom pool: $60,000 to $80,000.
  • Mid-range with a spa: $80,000 to $120,000.
  • Resort-style: $120,000 and up.
  • Most custom pools take about 12 to 16 weeks.

The two timelines do not match. Do not average them into a new number. Ask the builder who prices your job what their schedule includes.

What to line up before you compare written prices

  1. Pool only, or pool and spa, and whether the spa add-on is inside the total.
  2. Gunite or concrete, and what the shell price includes.
  3. Rock: included, or extra if they hit it.
  4. Retaining wall: included or not, and the length they priced.
  5. Secondary heat source: included or not.
  6. Who pulls the permit. Temecula requires one for pools, spas, and hot tubs. Murrieta and French Valley differ.
  7. The license number on the written price, and the registration of the person who sells the contract. Steps are in the license guide.

Resurfacing an existing pool is a different job. This page does not have a price for it. See pool remodeling.

What this site will not do

We do not build the pool, we do not negotiate the contract, and we do not take payment for the work. A licensed pool builder does those things under their own license. The referral from this site is free to you.

Talk with a licensed pool builder

Send a request with your address. We pass your request to a licensed pool builder who serves Temecula, Murrieta, and French Valley, if one is available. Say whether you want a new pool, a spa, or work on a pool you already have.

Free referral service, not a contractor. Calls to this site are recorded to confirm referrals and for quality. How this works.
