Pool builders in French Valley

French Valley is unincorporated Riverside County. A pool permit here does not go through Temecula or Murrieta.

County permits and the barrier letter

Pool permits in French Valley go through Riverside County TLMA Building and Safety. The county's pool barrier letter 284-004, revised December 2025, says three things that matter before you price a fence or an alarm:

  • The primary barrier has to be at least 60 inches high.
  • Mesh fencing is not allowed as the primary barrier.
  • Where alarms are the secondary feature, they have to be ASTM F2208 listed alarms.

That letter is a county document. It is the local fact for French Valley because French Valley uses the county building department. It is not the Temecula city page, and it is not Murrieta bulletin IB-131. Those cities run their own offices. Compare them in the permit guide and on the Murrieta page.

A licensed pool builder should pull the county permit and should be able to explain how the barrier on your lot meets the letter. Cost figures for a new pool are contractor estimates in the cost guide, not a French Valley survey. County permit totals were not pulled, so this page does not invent a count.

Look up the builder, and the person who sells the contract, before you sign. The steps are in the license guide.

How it works

How a referral works, in three steps Call or send arequest We refer you toone licensedcontractor You decide
  1. Send a request

Tell us the city, the address, and whether this is a new pool or work on one you already have.

  2. Get connected

We take your request, confirm we may pass it on, and send it to one independent licensed pool builder who serves Temecula, Murrieta, and French Valley.

  3. A visit and a written price

The builder looks at the lot or the pool and gives you their price in writing. That price is theirs, not ours.

  4. You decide

You contract with the builder and pay the builder. Our referral is free, and you do not have to hire anyone.

French Valley pool questions

Who permits a pool in French Valley?

Riverside County TLMA Building and Safety. French Valley is unincorporated. Temecula and Murrieta do not issue that permit.

How tall does the barrier have to be?

The county barrier letter revised in December 2025 requires a primary barrier at least 60 inches high. Mesh fencing cannot be the primary barrier.

Can I use an alarm instead of a fence?

The letter says that where alarms are the secondary feature, they must be ASTM F2208 listed alarms. It still requires a primary barrier at least 60 inches high. Ask the builder how those two parts fit your lot.
